The most haunting of Puccini's arias, beautiful in it's simplicity and melody. Here is my own extended arrangement, perfect as a ballroom modern waltz and always turns heads whenever I play it. Stays in tempo all the way and guaranteed to make an impact. It's really is a gorgeous orchestral arrangement and in the original key, so it's perfect for a soprano voice or a tenor, and it stays in tempo all the way. Some of the youtube recordings available really milk the pauses but it works equally well sticking to the tempo. Reference versions I like are by Montserrat Caballé, beautfiul control, and the wonderful voice of David Phelps, although he doesn't half milk it, but the incredible voice speaks for itself.
